Yeddy, steady, go seems to be the rallying cry. Only, it is not towards progress, but towards suicide. A party that takes several years to come to power is able to destroy its own government in less than 2 years. Have our parties lost all sense of propriety, shame, and even the will to survive? Reminds me of the time when the Janata Party came to power in Delhi after the infamous emergency in the 1970s. The new government did not even last 3 years. All the common causes evaporated as soon as power got into their hands. Surprise, surprise, Indira Gandhi came back, strong as ever.
Like other organisations (corporate), political parties need to infuse a certain amount of discipline, and at least some common sense into their members, to ensure that at least they complete a term before frittering away a mandate which is earned after a lot of effort, and expense. People deserve a good government.

Sir,
The worst affected from the North Karnataka floods are the BJP for sure!
The dissent within the party was an expected one. First, Yeddy sidelines the senior MLAs and gives away Ministry to new comers with money power. Second, Reddys funded 'Operation Kamala' had to boomerang with the existing leaders tailoring a conspiracy to give our CM sleepless nights.
Now there are rumours of talks with the JDS to form a Govt. You fool me once, shame on you. You fool me twice, shame on me. Hope our GOD FEARING CM has heard this :-)
BTW, something on MH elections are here in my blog - http://nagendrashenoy.blogspot.com/2009/10/maha-circus-in-maharashtra-shiv-sena.html
Isn't there a theory - People get what they deserve?
I know it sucks to be the minority.
Hi Gunds,
How is Nagpur ?
Yes, the brazen manner in which an elected govt is held to ransom is indeed shocking and despicable. But the degeneration has set in the state-level politics of almost all states - Any number of examples inthe recent times can be shown- MK and family monopolising in TN,A Madhu Koda stashing away thousands of crores in indian/swiss banks, One Mayavati going on a statue spree or MNS vandalising oath ceremony etc. The point is public is either helpless or indifferent to all these atrocities by those in power. It is only the media which is shouting from the rooftop. The bureaucracy and judiciary which was once strong and provided a natural checks&balance is politicised and polarised on partylines. Hence Politicians have a free run atleast in the state politics till the next elections. I guess the public will have to realise that promoting fragmented statelevel polity leading to coalition govts will hurt their interests ultimately. !
Till then TV channels will make merry !
cheers
Paddy
Whats worse?? A 'Co-ordination committee' for a MAJORITY GOVERNMENT! Like PVN Rao said "Politics is the art of doing the impossible"
