Indian and Foreign Rivers

Maybe a few in the U.S. and a couple in Europe..the rest are Indian. Those I have seen, I mean.

Colorado river leaves gorgeous gorges in its wake. I have also seen the Potomac in Washington D.C., and the Mississippi somewhere in the South.

In Europe, it was the Rhine in Germany, Seine in Paris, and not sure which one in the Netherlands and Venice..could be canals.

In India, the Ganga, Yamuna, Bramhaputra, Godavari, Cauvery, Mahanadi, Gomti, Netravathi and Tungabhadra are a few prominent ones I remember. Here in Indore, the Narmada is visible in 2-3 places nearby, and also near Jabalpur among the magnificient Marble Rocks.

Rivers

I grew up around the Godavari river. Happened to visit the various tributaries of the Ganga during a trip to Badrinath a few years ago. This May, we saw the Indus and Zanskar rivers (the sangam in the pics here) during the Leh-Ladakh trip. It's a great feeling to see some of these cradles of human civilization, and ponder the role they played in shaping human destiny. Otherwise, Man might as well have been on the Moon!
