Pandharpur - a religious pilgrimage site in Maharashtra might take the cake in terms of its usage in local songs, abhangs, bhav geet, bhajans et al.
In terms of other countries since many do not produce movies or songs for that matter I think 'NY' might be the most bandied about name.
