I had mentioned her earlier as having a unique-sounding name- musical too. Meenu Mynam. Now we met, after connecting over social media. She is now in the Gulf, and was visiting Bangalore-an IMT Nagpur MBA. We last met at a Hyderabad alumni get-together, and had a lot to catch up on. It's great fun catching up with old students who are now more like friends. Recommended!
A blog about life, Hindi music, films, humour, books, people, places, events, travel, and occasionally, marketing management or leadership. Mostly apolitical, because that is a personal matter that each of us should decide on, and because I don't want to lose readers!

Vanishing Cream- Part 2
I like this theme, so I decided to extend the franchise, a la Dabangg, to part 2. Adding to the list of vanishing entities, let's see where we can go..
If Chetan Bhagat vanished, we might just have good literature being written. But publishers might have to work harder to find it.
If Lee Falk had vanished before he wrote The Phantom, we would not have any Old Jungle Sayings- like the gem "The voice of the Phantom froze the blood of a tiger," or, "the Phantom moves faster than lightning." What a pity that would be!
If the makers of Murder 2/3 vanish, we would not have anyone murdering our enthu for films, and maybe we would get some films with Arth (meaning).
If all Mallus vanished, there would be a big 'gulf' between demand and supply- for them, you know where.
If oil vanished from the earth, we would have to rig the rigs to dig for water. Might even find enough to go around.
If godmen vanished, men may find God easier, and cheaper.
If Business schools vanished, Kotler would take up farming.

Books
I am reading two books currently. 'Choice' by Eliyahu Goldratt is an exploration of his theories which he made popular in his earlier books. Essentially, the power of common sense, or logical thinking applied to business or life problems, is what he explores. Written as a dialogue between his daughter and himself, it seems quite a good read- I am about halfway through it. The second one I am simultaneously reading is "Sand in my bra and other misadeventures". This is an edited book of hilarious travel stories by various women writers. One describes how a lady had to walk with a bag of groceries in one of the middle east (gulf) countries, crossing a road, cars and a group of men, while trying to balance a loose pair of underwear to prevent it from slipping to the ground. Another hilarious story is of a woman visiting a Thai nightclub with its own 'special' stuff. The book is fun, and nicely written, though the authors are diverse.
Another book I read recently is "Surely you are joking, Mr. Feynman" , about a scientist who was a normal, but curious kid, and his days as a college student at MIT, his 'presentation' to an audience full of nobel laureates including Einstein, and other interesting tidbits.
