Putting two and two together- golf and meditation, I think I have discovered the perfect blend of what I need, I can say with some pride. Why meditation? Because it needs concentration, forgetting yourself and your daily dose of worries, anxieties, and so on. When you are focussed on the golf ball, just before you take a swing at it, that's exactly what happens. Meditation of a sort, even though you don't call it that- this will be my patented phrase. Oh, well, forget it, you are not supposed to remember this world and its patenting policies. People in high places even forget whose parents they are (and therefore the many paternity cases).
I have just restarted swinging the golf club, and therefore this new-found gyan. Swing it away, folks, and you shall have no worries.

Nice description. Golf can help in networking with HNIs. But a game for the affluent, not affordable for all.
Not really, if you have a friend who is a member at a golf course...better still, if you can play at an army or services course with a member.. they charge very little..equipment is a one time cost...balls lost are a bigger cost...if u don't hit straight, but that is motivation to learn the game!
There is a Deepak Chopra book on Golf wherein he likens it to meditation ! He leads the way to spirituality thru golf (not the nineteenth hole which we know better !)
another perspective on golf -
hitting a ball as far as you can then chasing it, hunting for it, and hitting it again.
While continuing this repetitive activity ensure that you put socks on top of the sticks used to hit these aforementioned balls.
Also carry these sticks (covered with socks) with you so you can choose from which stick should be used to beat the ball to get best results,
hmm.. gulli danda may be viewed as a cheaper alternative in modest surrounds esp. real estate.
Paddy, will check out the book. tire36, true, there are many perspectives. For example, the husband's perspective vs. the wife's. Or the boss's vs. the subordinates. that's what makes life interesting.
